What better and more FUN way to master crocheting shapes than to make a portrait! With the face as a stimulus, explore designing, materials and crochet techniques to create a unique project. Also learn many ways to attach together all those shapes and to embellish the surface of your work by “drawing” with crochet stitches. The combination of experimentation and planning are central to this class. Students will gain a conceptual approach to making a project. Crocheting without patterns is easier than you think.
Students should bring: an assortment of crochet hooks; a box or basket to keep your things contained; Scissors, safety pins, tapestry needle. One 8” solid color square in any stitch. Many yarns and crochet materials will be provided.
